As time roles on and the 3. Friday of the month is approaching and we can now announce the Likemind meeting for February to be a reality. The cozy morning meetings that generates contacts, smiles and laughter are getting more and more known in Copenhagen. Also on the social networks side we can see a growing interest. More followers on twitter, more people joining the likemind facebook group. During the last Likemind, I met Kim Bach. After a talk around the use of social medias as promotion tools we came to the conclusion to Tweet about the likemind meetings under the #hashtag #lmcph. So join the twitter conversation there and the real life conversation at Café Din Nye Ven.
Here is the flyer for this event. If you need for prints please let us know, by contact Likemind@kadaver.dk
By teaming up with the photographer A-Rock visuals, Kadaver can now present beautiful photos of the lovely Bangura bag from Masanga, Sierra Leone! The Bangura bag can be found in different shops around Copenhagen. We can mention Kaza and Hooha for now and it will soon be online too!
We are in the lucky situation where Nikolaj Kirk is thrilled about the bag. He uses it and stands as an Ambassador for the project. That we are very proud of. Together with Nikolaj Kirk, we are curretly looking into new product lines and development.
Enjoy the photos by A-rock and the rest of the day!

The inside of the sleeves! they all have different colored fabric from the local market at Makeni in Sierra Leone.
Here you can see a close up photo of the fabric, the recycled zipper and the used bicycle tubes.
It´s a unique product that helps and support development in one of the poorest countries in the world, Sierra Leone.

Haus Cph is a graphical design company based in Copenhagen. Mikkel Bock who is one of the graphical designers helped Kadaver with our web page for a long time ago. He has a great touch and a creative way of using different forms of visual art to create digital online solutions. The Other day I, Søren, took a lesson about updating and editing the webpage. It´s a great little thing to be able to edit the webpage “inhouse”, that also means that various updates has been made on the Project page and the Partner page.
Haus-Cph are currently working on their own web page. When it´s up running, you will be able to check it out here: www.haus-cph.dk
I saw the drafts and I am very impressed! Felix, the other Graphical designers at Haus-cph are some times using Twitter, and you can follow him here: www.twitter.com/felix_ab
We are here at Kadaver looking very much forward for the future Partnership with the guys from Haus.
Kadaver had the pleasure last week to participate in a workshop facilitated by the Freemium master Peter Froberg. Peter used a business plan development model, developed by Alexander Osterwalder to teach from. The work had two main focus areas, firstly to investigate what business model Kadaver is working out from and how it can improve. The second focus was to help Peter develop his approach to teach based on the model.
When the day ended we had been through a lot of brainstorming, developing, idea generating, business talks, discussions, frustrations and clarity!
The template that Peter was teaching from took care of areas as; what the company is offering, how we connect with our partners and costumer segments, our distribution channels, the income and cash flow, our resources, various activities and expenses. The template has a visual touch that makes it obvious use many of the brainstorming tools that Kadaver are familiar with from the Kaospilot education.
In the evaluation of the day, we could conclude that Peters skills in teaching about business models are of high quality! He is very good to give examples of how different companies are already using various business models and by doing that inspire to create further development of our own business.

The likemind meetings have been happening for about one year in Copenhagen now. It have been an interesting way of meeting good people in copenhagen, and a way for Kadaver to see how the different social medias are working as promotion tools. The Copenhagen based Likemind has a twitter profile and a facebook page. Both with the purpose to drag people to join the meetings, and also with the purpose for participants to start sharing thoughts and projects and keep the new connection that might have happened. Lately the OsMig network was established on the Social Network platform Ning. It´s initiated by a good friend named Matias Ignatius, and I like the concept. Maybe that online network could use Likemind as a physical meeting facility ? The doors are open.
I am looking forward meeting you at the upcoming event.
Lately I have been more and more curious for how social medias are part of branding a company. How the word spread around the world wide web and traffic is generated. Blogging at this blog is a big part of the traffic leading to our webpage www.Kadaver.dk. Using various tracking systems to understand the different unique visits, I can highly recommend both WordPress statistic for wordpress blogging, Google analytics for webpages and Bit.ly to track and post url links posted on the social network twitter. In general I have found out that making references and getting mentioned on other blogs or pages creates traffic. To day I got to link facebook, twitter and wordpress together, and by some technical html support from our friend Casper Hübertz Jørgensen at Spoiled Milk, the pictures in the sidebar are now active links. Thank you Casper.
If you have any other hints or ideas for how to use the possibilities in web 2.0, please speak up.
For a long time Kadaver and Masanga have been working on the establishment of computer sleeves import from Sierra Leone also called Bangura Bags. The Computer sleeves are created out of used bicycle tubes in the tailor shop at the hospital compound. They fit the various PC´s and Apple Macbooks both 13″, 15″ and 17″. Kadavers goal is to take part of the establishment of a local sustainable business. The Tailor shop is a part of the Hospital project that aim to provide free treatment for the people in Sierra Leone. By selling Bangura Bags a cash flow is created in the community, people are getting employed and sick people are treated. To read more about Masanga hospital, click this link. As ambassador for the bags Nikolaj Kirk stands in front. The establishment of the business os in general going very well. We at kadaver are proud to present the next batch of Bangura Bags. It arrived here during Christmas!!
The Cop15 is rolling and the media has a lot of focus on Bella Centeret and the negotiation and the different demonstrations happening in the streets. Beside the various happenings around the city, Kadaver continues to host Likemind meetings at Café din nye ven.
Likemind is meeting concept that originates from New York. The meeting concept is very simple and only demands that you show up.
Kadaver are proud to welcome you once again to Likemind, 18th of Dec. at 08.00 Am Location is: Skt. Pederstræde 34, the Café is called “Din nye ven”.
Looking forward to meet you, the reader of our little blog.
Back in the cold October breeze, 52 brave citizens of Copenhagen made a FlashMob for signing the Hopenhagen petition. Today when I was searching around the web I came by photos with Hopenhagen and the greenwashing of Coca Cola. These banners are hanging around the town and bringing attention to the big Hopenhagen live event that are ongoing at the same square where the Sunbathers was doing their stunt. When I went on youtube to see the sunbathing video I discovered a new flashmob from Syracuse in New York. It is a true copy and it´s great! bringing awareness to the main issue! – COP15 the meeting in Copenhagen and the importance of having a global agreement.
When listening to the complains and wishes for our future and the development of society I often experience a tendency to want something “new” or “different”. The approach is most likely based on -what we got, is NOT good enough- and then followed up by a passive “reaction”. I am not sure rather you can actually call it a “reaction”, when nothing happens and the expectation is; that either politicians or “someone ells” should DO SOMETHING. not just anything – but something! the right thing, not the wrong thing – as “they” always do… hhhmmm ?
If you have gone traveling for sometime, the experience of this tendency is extremely interesting. Be course returning from a situation where the conditions are worse than the “normal” situation, the “normal” suddenly seems to be good. And not as first thought off, bad. Now why are these late nights reflections interesting? my curiosity lays with considering what steps should we/I/you and Kadaver take in order to make this reflection happen for every body – with out including the travel – ?? If you have any tips or ideas I would be more than happy to hear your reflections. And of course we can take the conversation with coffee. You are welcome at the office.
This is how the office looks like after a full day of preparing and developing!
As most people know by now, Copenhagen will host the climate meeting Cop15 in December.
It has been around for a while and the time is closing in! – will Obama join? will the different politicians take any decisions? Will the African nations be heard? Will Nepenthes save the threes and WWF save the pandas or polar bears?
The questions are many and only time will tell. Or what?
The other day I watched a board discussion hosting: Knud Pedersen, Vice president at Dong Energi, among others. He presented Dong´s strategy to become a more CO2 neutral company. During the next 30 years the will shift the figures from: 15% CO2 neutral energy and 85% Goal driven energy – to 85% CO2 neutral energy and 15% energy containing CO2 emissions. This is a pretty hardcore strategy to become a Co2 friendly company. If the companies are ready to deal with the climate issue, and the politicians are too, then why are we talking about the fact that there might not happen anything during Cop15? if it all is just one big scam and get-together, then why even bother having it? What is the energy concumtion of hosting that meeting gonna cost compared to how much it will safe?
There are many things that I am curious to see in December!
Kadaver have been in contact with a broad perspective of people dealing with small events, happenings, campaigns, conferences, exhibitions etc. A lot of things are going to go down at the same time, and most of it is extremely interesting.
Then there is also the whole aspect of all the travelers coming to Copenhagen to stay during Cop15. The hotels has been booked for quite a while now and great initiatives like: New Life Copenhagen has been established in order to host people from a grassroots level too. the Couchsurfing network is heated and a broad specter of activists are preparing for December.
The Demonstration on December 12th, is estimated to have approximately 60.000 participant! All yelling for climate change! If you know of any great initiatives thats gonna happen, then feel free to drop a comment or an email. Then we will post it here on the blog for others to see and participate.
Going green is a popular trend in these days. Specially in Copenhagen now the COP15 is running close. Kadaver has for the past been known for having a good and healthy traditionally lunch. Danish “rugbrød” with various of meet layers and of course a lot of topping!
To day we tried to join the wave of the “green”. A fresh salad for lunch was our introduction to the more “green minded living”. I even snapped a photo of it before eating it. It was a delightful dish and I must say that I enjoyed it. – even though I am not proud to say so.. it have been a brand for specially Johannes and I to eat Rugbrød and Leverpostej for lunch during our time at the Kaospilot. Changing a brand is always a hard one! We managed today, and now the interesting aspect is to see if we can keep it.
I always get so fascinated when shopping food, there are so many possibilities to choose between. And so much I don´t choose! And that makes me wonder what you are having for lunch these days?
I am a somewhat proud citizen of Amager, an island just next to central Copenhagen. I have lived their for about a year now and in that year I have travelled from Amager to Nørrebro a lot of times. Although it’s a twenty minute ride back and forth I have come to love it.
One phenomenon that I have come to love and I believe it’s one of the greatest things in the city is the two bridges, Knippelsbro and Langebro. As bridges they are not really that unique but they are both helping to slow down the pace of the city now and again. Both bridges pass over the some quite travelled waters, which means that they have to open up – as they are not tall enough for the ships to pass under. I have not experience another city where a phenomenon like this one happens and that frequently.
When one of the bridges is up no one can pass. To me this is a rare chance for everyone in the proximity of the bridge to stop up and do absolutely nothing. I think there are many that are very annoyed by the occurrences, but the atmosphere and feel of the events are quite nice and I sometime find myself hoping the bridge will be up – although that would mean that I would met up late for work.
I would like to use some time writing about our dear friends and lovers Mr. Green. We have been following the concept since it was developed and I have participated a few time in the events.
Mr. Green is a commercial climate activistic campaign brought to life by members of the organisation Viva La Renovation which Søren and I have been deeply involved in and still love from the bottom of our hearts. The campaign is made to spread the green message with a very positive approach and engage people with an invitation to fun and happiness instead of the classic dogmatic angel telling people that doom day is near.
The concept is very simple. 40-50 people wearing green suits shows up at events and other places with many attendees. Their primary task is to spread good vibes around protecting the climate and our planet in general.
This concept has been around for a while starting in St. Petersburg, Russia and is now, as it was meant from the start, a green campaign for a big company administrating several malls all over Denmark. A part from the commercial obligations Mr. Green is also participating in different events such as the CO2-neutral festival CO2penhagen, the electronical music event Stella Polaris, the Gay Pride Parade in Copenhagen and lately the world wide campaign 350.org.
To be honest I love Mr. Green. I think the whole concept is extremely simple and the message is clear. As they say, “We wanna save the world and have fun doing it!”.
I love to participate and join the events we are showing up to. The way Mr. Green has spread out as a natural add on to the different campaigns either with a responsible role or a positive creative disturbance is very efficient.
Why do I like this concept apart from being a part of it?
In a time where many experts and other engaged people around the world are using a big amount of time showing us how bad it is with our climate, showing us consequences and showing numbers and statistics that are very difficult to understand Mr. Green is a positive wave of smiles and dance. What Mr. Green does is not just engaging people for a good cause but also showing the crowd that it can be funny to do good. The thunder is gone and there is no talking about serious matters.
Does it have any effect?
I always like to believe in the effect of concepts like this but I have to be honest, I have been a little in doubt. My biggest concern has been around the effect of the conscious “having fun” approach. Is that the way you get people to live green? Can it activate the “green nerve” in the brain and make people move?
Last week Mr. Green was interviewed in the danish newspaper Information. They are asking similar questions concluding, with help from the expert Nadja Pass, editor at the publisher Reflexioner, that the approach works. Nadia Pass calls it “motivation rhetoric” (translated), it is not giving any answers but leaves people to their own interpretation of the cause and thereby creating ownership for the target group.
This is exactly what we believe in. Inspire, inspire, inspire!
If you can’t inspire people to join your cause you will never reach a climax worth mentioning. It is in the inspiration the action is, it is where people participate and take ownership.
Listening to music I am often very inspired and I can honestly say that a lot of the music I make is made on the behalf of what I like and what I worship. This mechanism is exactly the same in the events. You have to like the vibe, the cause and the people behind to be fully engaged and take action.
I think there is many lessons to learn from the concept Mr. Green but one thing I can tell for sure; they have not invented the wheel again. Mr. Green is just simple, funny, inspiring and hyper visual and that works!
Until the end of May we, the four members of Kadaver, were proud students at the Danish based education, The Kaospilots. It is to a large extend because of the school’s influence on us and the things we were taught there, we are finding ourselves in a situation as partners in our own company – Kadaver -
Through the three years of education we have been asked numerous times what The Kaospilots are taught, what they can do and what we would end up with when the educational program was concluded. Some months after our graduation it might be time to come up with an answer and maybe even some reflections about what we, through me Jacob, believe was essential for our stay.
To start somewhere I can tell you what the school communicates to the world. It is also what caught our attention in the beginning, so maybe it is a good place to start. The school works to educate young people (20-30 year olds -’ish) in the fields of business-, process-, and project-design. What comes out in the end is; project leaders, entrepreneurs and consultants. But what made the school appealing to us was the element of combining these traits with social innovation, sustainability and cultural diversity. I guess if it had not been for these elements the school’s curriculum could resemble any other business school’s. I believe that it is in the combination in a traditional business-like aspects like marketing, management and branding with the before mentioned social responsible aspects that the school becomes truly relevant for both us and hopefully the world.
What I believe is most relevant for us as a company is the way that the school has given us the feeling that we can really make a difference. So without hesitation we can declare that we are on a mission to save the world – no more, no less…
One of the things I remember from the last couple of semesters at school are the talks we had on what will happen on the other side – I think we called it the gap. What I know now is that the school has helped making the transition from student to a professional life easier than I thought it would be. Because what we have done in the last three years and the project that we have been engaged in has been as close to being what we are facing right now.
In growing up I remember the focus that was on my generation – born in the eighties. We were pretty much the smallest generations in many many years. That, I was told, meant that I could pretty much choose my career and eventually my job – no questions asked. I think this whole notion followed me to the Kaospilots. But then the economic crises struck and the jobs that I wanted and the projects that I wanted to work on decreased. In that situation I am also grateful to the school. I think I could have panicked, but I believe that the school has made it possible for me to adapt to a new situation even one as vast as the current global economic climate. When we started Kadaver we knew and was told numerous times that we could not have picked a worse time to start a company and especially not one that focused on soft values when everybody else was focusing on bottom-lines. We did anyway, because we saw and still see potential – maybe now in different areas than we did two years ago. That way of handling changes is undoubtedly one of the core capabilities of the Kaospilots.
And when it comes to capabilities I remember I was once told that I had an “interesting” profile. That was to a large extend because of my educational background. This happened when looking for an internship position I naturally asked what she meant by this. I did not get a reply, but I think that I have some thoughts on what the core capabilities of a Kaospilot is. First and foremost this is my thoughts and that is one of the beautiful things about the way the school teaches – it is up to the individual student to focus on what they find relevant, essential and engaging either during their stay at school or after graduation. That makes for a diverse group of graduates both in terms of professional capabilities and – due to the application workshop – personality.
In figuring out what I believe the Kaospilots can do I have both looked on, well, myself but also the three other Kaospilots that have chosen to spend their everyday with me. We recently carried out an assignment that I feel underlined what we and other Kaospilots do best. The result of the assignment is posted somewhere below this post. I know that we chose to deal with the assignment alternatively, creatively and innovative… Blah, Blah, Blah… Those terms are about as in-concrete as they get! What we did was focus on people. We got under their skin and appealed to them right there and then. We communicated in a simple way that did not take a five year degree in communication to understand. And that I believe is a great trait. That comes from a combination of being taught both elements of anthropology and sociology, but most relevantly that their lies infinite potential in all people. That last ability is largely due to be slapped around with the sentence “natural, creative, resourceful and whole” – referring to people in general. So Thanks Paul... You might just be right.
Another thing I noticed and deeply appreciated during the project happened on the day of the event. The event was depended on a lot of things that was completely out of our hands. For instance rain would have been a pretty destructive force to deal with – there was pretty much nothing we could do but wait for the weather forecast and then decide on a plan B. Luckily the sun was out on the day, so nothing had to change. Something on the other hand did change that day. We where informed that the town square would be ours on the day and that no one else would be there. Then 30 minutes before we where to execute the assignment 3 massive lorries rolled up… For a second we thought everything would collapse as they where to put up three tent and crane. That would ruin the picture. What I noticed was Søren, who is sitting across the room from me right now. He walked up to the different lorry-drivers and asked them if they could move their stuff to different locations and please be done in 30 minutes… A pretty bold move but it worked – they moved their stuff and left us with a window of 45 minutes to execute two event, which meant 30 minutes less than we had anticipated… And this is where one of the capabilities of the Kaospilots kicks in. Not only did we take the new circumstances into consideration I also believe that they and our handling helped make the event and the documentation even better. That situation was about change ready-ness and no one does it better.
I think this is a post that I will keep building on, as more stuff regarding the school will undoubtedly put up along the way.
What is 350?
“350 is the number that leading scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide—measured in “Parts Per Million” in our atmosphere. 350 PPM—it’s the number humanity needs to get back to as soon as possible to avoid runaway climate change.” see more –> here
The preparation for the 350 events have been running for some time now. More than 4000 events will take place on the action day October 24. The 350.org states that the “mission is to inspire the world to rise to the challenge of the climate crisis—to create a new sense of urgency and of possibility for our planet”
And how are they doing it? – through the web site www.350.org you are able to sign up for participating. You can register your own participation and that has lead to 170 different host countries. Further more they have made it possible for you to print out the logo – 350 – in the right font and stencil, which leads to projects of awareness like these:
first one is the back of my own bike, where the numbers 350 constantly are visible for the public. I have had some curious questions towards the number and other forms for thumbs up during my rides around Copenhagen city.
The last one is found on the internet, a “green” way of creating graffiti. I am sure Claus Bondam thinks this is “the alright form for street art” as he express in Politiken October 13.
The small things happening around the city brings awareness towards 350. I am looking forward to see the end result on October 24th.
Here is a A video giving some great insight on the campaign.
How come that we at Kadaver choose to blog? What do we get out of it? and what do you get out of it?
Kadaver have now been blogging on this site for 3 weeks. During these 3 weeks we have made 10 posts, this is #11 and we have generated about 400 hits. In the statistics it shows that the different hits are coming from various links and not search results. from this we can conclude that our blog is still too young to be found on the search engines such as google. But still the various social networks provide traffic through our site. Last week we created the Climate Flash Mob in Copenhagen for Hopenhagen.org, Our video is on the internet and have by now more than 2300 hits in only 3 days. for this we can thank our network and the web 2.0 users that spreads the word about interesting things happening on a global scale. We got mentioned by the Green Energy Reporters , Eva from Belfast Uk, Tobie from Denmark the municipality of Copenhagen , in the nation newspaper Politiken web section Ibyen By Jacob Klintrup and Søren Bo Steendahl. Then the Twitter community have been tweeting and linking to us, here is a screenshot of my TweetDeck application.
The Facebook users have made comments and “reposts”. Here is a screenshot of my status update when we launched the video.
All in all this is the reason for why we are blogging, it gives us the possibility to interact with the end receiver of our projects. It provides you with information of what we as a company are working with and thinking, and it gives you the possibility to comment, interact and connect with us. If you have any thought or advice you think we should consider feel free to drop an email or comment here on the blog.
The video is made for the campaign Hopenhagen described in the previous post and it is beautiful.
50 people sunbathing at Rådhuspladsen in Copenhagen the main square in Copenhagen even in Denmark.
It was a very very nice experience and everything worked out perfectly.
Thanks to our beloved volunteers and the brilliant camera crew we believe that this is not the only flash mob we will execute in Kadaver. In fact we believe that many more will come and many more will be as good as this one.
This is our daily ecstasy and drive, this is what we want to do and this is what we have to do.
On October 9, more than 50 Copenhageners concerned about the climate sunbathed on Town Square in the name of Hopenhagen. The message was crystal clear: We hope for a new signed climate change policy in december in order to ensure the future of our planet.
When the whistle blew, the green and white towels were spread out and the clothes were dropped! The sudden happening came as some surprise to the many bystanders who stared in amazement as the 50-something people between 11 and 71 years of age apparently enjoyed lying on the square, naked in 9 degrees celsius.
The purpose of the happening was to emphasize the problems our planet is facing and to, hopefully, both send a message to the world leaders that we need a signed deal but also to the citizens around the world that they too need to take stand and that action is necessary. The world’s climate issues need to be approached with creative thinking and alternative means. According to the city and the people of Copenhagen that also applies to the way we communicate the message.
Due to the fact that Copenhagen is at the center of attention in relation to three large events in 2009, the city has launched a campaign under the name, Hopenhagen. The first of the three events was the World Outgames that took place during the end of the summer. A couple of weeks ago Copenhagen was then host to the IOC meeting where Rio de Janeiro was elected host city for the 2016 summer olympic games. Finally and most relevantly Copenhagen will host the Climate Conference, COP 15 – Copenhagen Climate in the end of November. As these events has and will bring a lot of international guest to Copenhagen the municipality has decided to launch the campaign, Hopenhagen to both prepare the city for the guest and inform the citizens of the events and what they are all about.
As the two first events has already taken place the main focus – and the focus for the rest of the year will be on the Climate Conference and to create focus on the climate changes that we are facing. As the name of the campaign, Hopenhagen, implies there is a focus to turn the city into a city of Hope. A city where all the frames are in place to make the world leaders join in an agreement that will address the climate changes.
We, Kadaver, has recently work along side the Hopenhagen campaign and executed a flash mob to create attention on both climate changes and the campaign as such.
So stay tuned for the documentation of the event.

About one year ago two of the Kadaver partners, Søren and Johannes, were living in New York City for a couple of months. They were there as a part of the Kaospilot education program and work on a concrete assignment as is custom to the school. During their stay they came across a concept that caught their attention. The Concept is called Likemind and is a simple yet great way of networking. Through recent years we, Kadaver, have attended several networking events and we have found that there is more focus on the business card than the actual person behind it – that we felt was a shame. For us, at least, people are a whole lot more interesting than paper!
It seemed that the founders of Likemind shared our opinion. At the Likemind meetings it is the people, their thoughts and projects that is in focus and the business cards stays in the back pocket. That makes it possible to both engage in conversations and even just listen to what people have to say and get inspired that way.
To keep focus on the people in an even larger extend Likemind is not an after work event – but rather something that happens at the break of dawn. That way you will not meet people with a cocktail in hand but rather a steaming cup of morning coffee. And having a cup of coffee and meeting people early Friday morning is the perfect way of ending the week and starting a Friday.
If this concept has sparked some kind of interest the next Likemind meeting is October 16th at Din Nye Ven in Central Copenhagen – and of course set up and arranged by us, Kadaver… So see you bright and early at 8.00 AM

Two years ago Jacob stumbled upon an spectacular article in Politiken.dk. The article was about a young, brave Danish artist, who had made a socially provocative critical T-shirt that was creating awareness on the civil war in Darfur and how the surrounding world was handling the situation. Her name is Nadia Plesner and she is a student at the art academy in Amsterdam.
Below you can see a picture of the T-shirt:
And yes, Louis Vuitton also saw the association to one of their biggest sales objects. Remarkably Louis Veton did not like the T-shirt! Actually they decided to sue Nadia for millions of Euros.
We wrote Nadia in order to give her our biggest support and applause for her work. Nadia was flattered and we agreed to start a future partnership. After one year of pressure Nadia decided to stop the production of the T-shirt. But what is most important is that she created huge awareness and media attention on unfair situations in Darfur.
Nadia is constantly using her talented skills as an artist to make positive changes for the world and social responsible acts. One of her new initiatives is to collect used hospital equipment from Danish hospitals and send them to hospitals in the developing countries. In collaboration with us, Kadaver, we have by now filled a 40´ container with equipment from Gentofte Kommune Hospital and Frederiksberg Sygehus. The container will soon be shipped to two hospitals in Darfur.
Seeing this project coming to life, we believe it would be a shame if it were to be a one-time thing! Therefore we have gotten the idea of making a DataBase that will make this project happen again. The DataBase should be programmed in a way so that Danish hospitals can easily register what used and scrapped equipment they have available. Various NGO’s can then at the same time log onto the DataBase and see what kind of equipment is available. NGO’s knows where in the world the equipment is needed the most. In collaboration with different social responsible shipping companies the equipment will then be sent to places such as Africa and the Middle East. So, instead of all the Danish used hospital equipment will end up at the dump, it will be re-used in areas of the world where it is really needed.
We will of course return with more info when the two containers are shipped and when the DataBase is up running
So here we are, for the first time on track with our new website, www.kadaver.dk. It is no secret that this website has been a high priority for everyone and now we can finally lean back and enjoy our little informative window to the world.
The site is developed entirely by Mikkel Bock from the company Haus Copenhagen, www.haus-cph.dk. He has been an incredible support in the development process and worked very hard with finding a solution that fitted our identity and our need.
I sincerely hope you will visit the site and enjoy the look and info, unfortunately only in Danish for now – it could be valuable to take a course to understand it.
We are happy and by the way, what is a company without a website these days. It is like a Danish hotdog without pickles or a die without spots and maybe a woman without a smile or a day with out sunshine.
About four years ago Dr. Peter Bo Jørgensen decided to re-open a hospital, MASANGA Leprosy Hospital, in the most poor country in the world, Sierra Leone. As you probably know the Sierra Leone Civil War began in 1991, by the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) under Foday Sankoh. Tens of thousands died and more than 2 million people (well over one-third of the population) were displaced because of the 11-year conflict. Neighbouring countries became host to significant numbers of refugees attempting to escape the civil war. The war officially ended the 18th January 2002. The country by now is still really infected by the war. Before Peter Bo Jørgensen re-opened MASANGA, only 125 doctors was represented in the entire country. MASANGA has kept developing ever since, and they have extended the organisation with The Masanga Educational Program & The Masanga Sustainable Enterprise.
Søren Bo Steendahl has been a volunteer for the Masanga Organization for some years by now. In August 2009, Søren visited Masanga with various projects to work with. He was namely thrilled by the one of newly opened shops, The Tailor Shop. 2 years ago Henrik Smedegaard from Baisikeli, presented an idea of bags made out of used bicycle tubes. The two kaospilots started to work on the concept and be course of time restrictions the idea was on “standby”. Untill in April,2009, where Lea Sabine Dong initiated the production together with the tailors. Later Søren came to Masanga and returned to Denmark with 50 demo bags.
During September Kadaver has made a business plan on how to sell the bags here in Europe.
Briefly the project is about nursing the entrepreneurship in the developing countries, making authentic products for the consumers in Europe and do charity for the Masanga Hospital with the surplus.
By now we have designers and tailors at The Tailor Shop at MASANGA, who tries to enforce and strengthen the production. Kadaver is in contact with different distributors and shops in Denmark and Sweden, and we are soon ready to launch the product.

In our efforts to create meaning and alternative ways of exposure of the good cause we, along with many others, have stumbled upon the concept of Flash Mobs. To those of you who don’t know of the concept here is a quick introduction. A Flash Mob is an event were a large crowd assembles in the public space. They then perform a brief and sudden action that is out of the ordinary. They then leave the premises as if nothing has happened. That is the short version of what the concept is. What we believe should be added to this definition is documentation. Although a Flash Mob event can reach a large audience at crowded locations it has an even bigger potential in viral life online in the form of a video. It is therefore essential that the event is covered by a crew of cameramen and possibly also by audio recordings. That will create a far longer life of the Flash Mob and that is very interesting.
What we find incredibly interesting is combining a Flash Mob with a purpose that is more than the creative disturbance. And as our company focuses on the good cause – that is what we aim to promote and create attention around by utilizing the potential that lies within Flash Mobs.
And in a few weeks we will have the first example of a Flash Mob with a purpose created by us… When ready the documentation will naturally be present at this page.
All my dreams have come true. I thought I was lost. I thought I was bound to be a little boy constantly trying to become a big bearded man. I wanna be every woman’s desire for manhood and masculinity. And now I have found my golden opportunity for fulfilling my inner dream, my need to be something more. I have found the mug of joy!
These mugs are most certainly going to be Kadaver’s office coffee containers always bringing smiles and mustaches on our lips. I can’t wait to serve coffee for a client a cold and windy autumn day.
I say thanks to the designer Peter Ibruegger and thanks to you for being a reader of this blog!
The summer 2009, 4 kaospilots sets off to create a company, Kadaver, in the middle of the finance crises. All odds against us, and everywhere we go we meet question marks -??- is that possible in this financial situation? For 6 month ago the four founders; Jacob, Johannes, Anders and Søren took the choice not to believe in the financial crises. Simply go against the general assumptions by creating a business which includes the heart in all decisions. Based on inspiration from, among others, David Junge and the book “med hjertet på bundlinien” (with the heart on the bottom line) Kadaver wants to create meaning in society through their work.
Now in the establishing phase, we work on the implementation of the different tools we have learned at the Kaospilot education in Århus. As for now we follow the idea of the SCRUM meetings every morning in order to get an overview of the different tasks laying ahead off us.
Here is a photo from one site of the table during an update, of course it includes coffee and smiles.

This blog has been in the air for quite some time and nothing has happened – for that, sorry… We, Kadaver hereby promise that from this point on this blog will be filled with inspiration and thoughts from us the four members of Kadaver – Søren, Anders, Johannes and Jacob.
We will take turn in writing on this page to give you an insight in what happens in the heads of the four partners of Kadaver. Through our work we are often inspired by the works of others. That inspiration we wish to share with you, the visitor of this page. So that will be the foundation of of this page, inspiration. Both in terms of what moves us on an individual level but first and foremost what moves Kadaver. This will be a way of keeping track of us for those of you that are not able to stop by the office on Solitudevej on Nørrebro.
As our company has a focus on sustainability, social innovation and in general the good cause – that will also be some of the subject that we will write about on this blog. And naturally everything else that we stumble upon.
