Stumbled upon this unique way to set focus on lack of focus on the streets. It might be even more relevant with the recent passing of Lieutenant Columbo – Peter Falk. He will be missed!

Better Place is a new addition to the Kadaver project portfolio. As a launch of this new collaboration we have been engaged in creating awareness by guiding the electric cars through the streets of Copenhagen. You could therefore see three electric cars (Renault Fluence Z.E.) around Copenhagen this past weekend, among other places at Islands Brygge, Amager Strandpark and Bellevue. Next weekend (July 17) you will be able to meet the cars at Rådhuspladsen from 10 am to 1 pm. See you there.

In the past couple of years we have wondered whether or not it would be possible to reinvent the way that we define making donations. One of the reasons we have wondered is the fact that it seems like the way that people donate has not changed for the last decade – not remarkably anyway.

Recently Greenpeace launched a website to engage people in the creation of the new Rainbow Warrior – their flagship, so to speak… Their way of generating funds for the creation of the ship is a step in the right direction – but it can be taken even further to ensure loyal and engaged contributors.

Great work on the concept and design by DDB – France, Les 84 and Greenpeace

One year ago a group of people gathered around Stengade in Copenhagen to celebrate the birthday of now famous bus-driver, Mukhtar. So on this day, his birthday, we can congratulate him again and celebrate the fact that the youtube-film is about to reach the 3.000.000-click mark. Tomorrow it will also be decided whether the movie will go from Creative Circle-shortlisted to Creative Circle-winner.

Every now and again you stumble upon someone, who will inspire you! When working with Flash Mobs there are the obvious ones. The ones that everyone knows, has seen and refers to. Those are naturally The T-Mobile Dance and Frozen Grand Central Station and they are great! We believe that one person in particular has been overlooked although millions upon millions has seen his work. We have many times looked to french Remi Guillard for inspiration or just simply a laugh… The way Monsieur Guillard keeps reinventing the term flash mob and it’s usage is simply brilliant, so if you have not had the pleasure yet – check out some of his work below.

In this past fall Kadaver found itself in a fortunate role of being assigned to a task for the Danish Ministry of Food. Kadaver was chosen along side to other companies and in-house friends, bybird and Haus CPH. This constellation of three companies designed and shaped a campaign that was to address what the Danes wanted in terms of healthier, better and more appealing fast food and convenience products. Through recent years the usage of unhealthy fast food and convenience products has increased rapidly and the campaign was launched to find out whether or not there could be found alternative or new solutions that would make the healthier choice easier for the Danes to make.

The design of the campaign was created around well-known elements that would both created a sense of security to the target group, but it would also have a clear reference to the elements from the world of fast food and convenience products. This was done to secure that the focus of the campaign was in center and the target group would be willing to engage in dialogue around the campaign focus.

The result was a name “Mums – Hvad skulle det være?” (direct translation; Jummy – What will it be?) referring to two well-known terms within the Danish food universe.

The graphic design was inspired by both the environment around the american dinners and the Danish countryside homes.

The campaign that ran in a four week period contained viral elements such as a homepage (hurtigmums.dk), twitter-account, youtube-account and a facebookpage. Alongside these elements the campaign could be found on street-level via a national voxpop carried out by the campaign character Agent Mums, Go-Cards in cafés, headrestsleeves in the busses of Copenhagen and finally during a two week period in “The People’s Kitchen”, where the Danish consumers could taste and give feedback to different producers of Fast Food and Convenience products.

The conclusion of the campaign has been loads of feedback given by the target group, which will help form what future initiatives needs to be made in the future regarding fast food and convenience products.

For some time now we have been working together with 2100.nu who is an environmental project located at Østerbro, Cph, Denmark.
The project involves citizens and companies who jointly engage in order to reduce Co2 emissions by 10% before the 1st of May 2011.

Kadaver was asked to create a little movie for 2100.Nu. The movie is made to be shown in Park Bio at Østerbrogade, and is meant to create awareness around 2100.nu´ mission. Our task was to illustrate this without pointing an angry finger at people, but to inspire the public to visit www.2100.nu.

We created “Kvinden der levede i Mørke” – “The woman who chose to live in darkness”

The voice over is Danish.

Johannes and Søren from kadaver have been working the last two months in Shanghai for the Nordic Council of Minsters on a project called The Creative North. The assignment was to show how Nordic countries are using creativity and user driven innovation when developing welfare products, services and/or technologies. This should be shown in a renovated old ware house in shanghai called The Nordic Light House. Through a long time of research, different Nordic companies and student projects was chosen to participate. The exhibitors should represent their process from discovering the “need” to representing the product. The exhibition we created was based on huge cones which was back lit. (previously we wrote about creating the prototype) Having the back lit cones created a great feeling next to the cold walls in the building and shaped a landscape of small glowing light houses. As you can see on the picture here, compared with the design layout posted earlier, we really managed to create the aesthetic visual experience of walking into the room. Now when it´s all done and we are back in Copenhagen we think back on a beautiful exhibition which gave inspiration and insight on the Nordic welfare model. See more about the project here: www.thecreativenorth.com

I just stumbled upon a great example of what you can achieve if you decide to involve our target group. In general this concept is seen a lot in the business world, but this example is from the music world. This might even be what will help the music industry through it’s crisis – just a thought… Anyway Danish band Kashmir decided to involve their fans in the creation of their new music video by encouraging them shot a video containing their logo – they should then send the file to Kashmir who would then in turn pick the best contributions for their new video. Smart… It turned out that more than 200 videos was received. Thus creating a music video for the fans by the fans. That is one hell of a way of nursing fans and cutting costs in production.

I have attached a link to an interview posted on Politiken (it’s in danish): Press the image below to access the interview

I think the result speaks for itself. And I can only imagine the feeling of actually contributing to music video of ones favorite band. Enjoy it:

In general it seems that Kashmir are focusing on making their website a gathering point for all fans and interested people. Check it out – I think they might be on to something. kashmir.nu

Before we left for Shanghai and The Creative North exhibition we made a prototype and mockup of the way we are going to present the different Nordic companies. The concept of the exhibition is to create a landscape of glowing cones that contains the descriptions of the different participating companies. We have made round cones in order not to create a frontend and a backend of the exhibition and too illustrate the North as a collaborating unit.

This is a photo of the prototype. I can ensure you that the end product will make the room sparkle and the Nordic Light House glow!

When a project is finished, it´s always interesting to look back at where you started. Now when we have the Denfood site running and the carrots are in the shop, I thought I should share some documentation along the way.

Here the brainstorm started!

Brainstorm Kadaver Denfood Snack Carrots orangerødder

Then we went visting the carrots on the north part of Jytland! – a long way from home, that was!
Seeing all the carrots in the ground made the whole project much more real!

Here is a photo of Lasse from Denfood, finding some good carrot samples.

We were so lucky to have Uffe Elbæk visiting the office today. An informal coffee invitation can take many directions and nobody knows where it will end before it is tried out. The “sharing spirit” that lives in Kadaver stems from our educational background and personal world views. By having the coffee with Uffe it was evident where the Kaospilot sharing spirit really stems from! Ideas, concepts and potential partners was shared during the coffee and again Network is a key word.

We are now very much looking forward reading the book that Uffe Elbæk just wrote, Ledelse på Kanten. There should be some relevant stories for us. Check out the book here: Ledelse på Kanten

That is what is great about the Internet! – in every little corner, someone is telling about his/her own take on a situation/happening, and through the channels online, this message can spread in all directions!  As Google´s CEO Eric Schmidt once said: “The internet is the first thing that humanity has built that humanity doesn´t understand, the largest experiment in anarchy that we have ever had.”
That is exactly what makes it interesting to keep “Googleling” around the web. Lately most of the searching has been to find articles and web pages that talks about Kadaver´s lates work, the campaign Bedre Bus Tur and Mukhtar, the bus driver.

I would like to share some links with you about  what others have created:

Marta Karolina Olsen, Advisor at Advice Digital agency for digital communication.

She wrote this great article about “why Mukhtar is a Success” at K-forum.

Martin Meyer, Creative head at Mindjumpers, agency working with Social Media.

He wrote this article about “a fantastic flashmob with good intentions“, also at K-forum

I have made  my way past a lot of other News blogs, communication blogs and various of newspapers. I love it, and if you have any hints for what I/we should check out then don´t hold back. Share away!

Throughout the last four weeks we have worked tightly together with the company bybird, Haus and Arriva on a campaign dubbed Bedre Bustur. The last four weeks have featured several initiatives, among others; five weekly magazines, newly designed headrests, social media concepts, a brand new website and to day the latest addition to the campaign was launched.

Late Sunday night 250 seat-covers was installed in the busses across Copenhagen. The new covers indicated that this was a loveseat… (Kærlighedssæde) Throughout the day Danish media have intensely covered the seats and a debate has been started around the use of these and the general interaction in the danish busses…

The focus on the campaign has been to improve the experiences in the busses and drag focus towards how a busride can improve seen from the perspective of the people that uses the busses on a daily basis.

All the initiatives has generated a lot of great response from the users and today the media gave their response. Below can find some of the articles that have been in the new throughout the day.
