This is just amazing! I found this blog post on http://mashable.com/ and I must admit, that I just copy pasted the text. All credit to Mashable for the wording and links. This project is just so mindblowing! See for yourself!

Just when we had almost given up hope on Nokia, along comes “Gulp,” a promotional stop-motion animation that broke a world record as the largest ever created.

The video showcases the Nokia N8 smartphone‘s 12-megapixel camera, using its Carl Zeiss lens to great effect. Shooting this clever video with three of the smartphones mounted atop a 118-foot-high crane, the Sumo Science team at Aardman Animations (some of whom also work on the Wallace and Gromit animated series) have succeeded in putting together a true work of art.

It’s been confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records that the 11,000 square foot area used in the video makes this the world’s largest stop-motion animation.

Want to see how it was done? Here’s the “making of” video:

So on this day, his birthday, we can congratulate him again and celebrate the fact that the youtube-film is about to reach the 3.000.000-click mark. Tomorrow it will also be decided whether the movie will go from Creative Circle-shortlisted to Creative Circle-winner.

Fingers crossed and Happy Birthday Mukhtar!

We got this great little video from Germany, trying to illustrate how the world would look like, if we had no artisans and craftsmen! I think the production is well made and the idea is good! It was uploaded in Jan. 2011, and so far it has 255 hits on youtube. It looks like the production is made for a TV/cinema campaign and not on a viral budget. However it is an interesting way to illustrate and inspire young people to apply for that specific type of education. Check it out, and let us know what you think about it!

Back in the cold October breeze, 52 brave citizens of Copenhagen made a FlashMob for signing the Hopenhagen petition. Today when I was searching around the web I came by photos with Hopenhagen and the greenwashing of Coca Cola. These banners are hanging around the town and bringing attention to the big Hopenhagen live event that are ongoing at the same square where the Sunbathers was doing their stunt. When I went on youtube to see the sunbathing video I discovered a new flashmob from Syracuse in New York. It is a true copy and it´s great! bringing awareness to the main issue! – COP15 the meeting in Copenhagen and the importance of having a global agreement.

Here are the two videos!

What is 350?
350 is the number that leading scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide—measured in “Parts Per Million” in our atmosphere. 350 PPM—it’s the number humanity needs to get back to as soon as possible to avoid runaway climate change.” see more –> here

Hear Bill Mckibben Author of Deep Economy and co-founders of 350.org explain the need for taking this campaign serious. click –> here

The preparation for the 350 events have been running for some time now. More than 4000 events will take place on the action day October 24. The 350.org states that the “mission is to inspire the world to rise to the challenge of the climate crisis—to create a new sense of urgency and of possibility for our planet
And how are they doing it? – through the web site www.350.org you are able to sign up for participating. You can register your own participation and that has lead to 170 different host countries. Further more they have made it possible for you to print out the logo – 350 – in the right font and stencil, which leads to projects of awareness like these:

first one is the back of my own bike, where the numbers 350 constantly are visible for the public. I have had some curious questions towards the number and other forms for thumbs up during my rides around Copenhagen city.

This second photo is the window of our beloved office at Solitudevej 1 Copenhagen, where 2 plates of 350 is hanging in the window.

The last one is found on the internet, a “green” way of creating graffiti. I am sure Claus Bondam thinks this is “the alright form for street art” as he express in Politiken October 13.

The small things happening around the city brings awareness towards 350. I am looking forward to see the end result on October 24th.

Here is a A video giving some great insight on the campaign.
