One year ago a group of people gathered around Stengade in Copenhagen to celebrate the birthday of now famous bus-driver, Mukhtar. So on this day, his birthday, we can congratulate him again and celebrate the fact that the youtube-film is about to reach the 3.000.000-click mark. Tomorrow it will also be decided whether the movie will go from Creative Circle-shortlisted to Creative Circle-winner.

Fingers crossed and Happy Birthday Mukhtar!

Every now and again you stumble upon someone, who will inspire you! When working with Flash Mobs there are the obvious ones. The ones that everyone knows, has seen and refers to. Those are naturally The T-Mobile Dance and Frozen Grand Central Station and they are great! We believe that one person in particular has been overlooked although millions upon millions has seen his work. We have many times looked to french Remi Guillard for inspiration or just simply a laugh… The way Monsieur Guillard keeps reinventing the term flash mob and it’s usage is simply brilliant, so if you have not had the pleasure yet – check out some of his work below.

How come that we at Kadaver choose to blog? What do we get out of it? and what do you get out of it?

Kadaver have now been blogging on this site for 3 weeks. During these 3 weeks we have made 10 posts, this is #11 and we have generated about 400 hits. In the statistics it shows that the different hits are coming from various links and not search results. from this we can conclude that our blog is still too young to be found on the search engines such as google. But still the various social networks provide traffic through our site. Last week we created the Climate Flash Mob in Copenhagen for Hopenhagen.org, Our video is on the internet and have by now more than 2300 hits in only 3 days. for this we can thank our network and the web 2.0 users that spreads the word about interesting things happening on a global scale. We got mentioned by the Green Energy Reporters , Eva from Belfast UkTobie from Denmark the municipality of Copenhagen , in the nation newspaper Politiken web section Ibyen By Jacob Klintrup and Søren Bo Steendahl. Then the Twitter community have been tweeting and linking to us, here is a screenshot of my TweetDeck application.

Today is the big “blog action day”. Our beloved flash mob video is out. It is on the internet now. For the world to see. For you to see. For you to enjoy.

The video is made for the campaign Hopenhagen described in the previous post and it is beautiful.
50 people sunbathing at Rådhuspladsen in Copenhagen the main square in Copenhagen even in Denmark.

It was a very very nice experience and everything worked out perfectly.

Thanks to our beloved volunteers and the brilliant camera crew we believe that this is not the only flash mob we will execute in Kadaver. In fact we believe that many more will come and many more will be as good as this one.

This is our daily ecstasy and drive, this is what we want to do and this is what we have to do.

Let the predefined be redefined with a twist of Kadaver and a bunch of beautiful people!

On October 9, more than 50 Copenhageners concerned about the climate sunbathed on Town Square in the name of Hopenhagen. The message was crystal clear: We hope for a new signed climate change policy in december in order to ensure the future of our planet.

When the whistle blew, the green and white towels were spread out and the clothes were dropped! The sudden happening came as some surprise to the many bystanders who stared in amazement as the 50-something people between 11 and 71 years of age apparently enjoyed lying on the square, naked in 9 degrees celsius.
The purpose of the happening was to emphasize the problems our planet is facing and to, hopefully, both send a message to the world leaders that we need a signed deal but also to the citizens around the world that they too need to take stand and that action is necessary. The world’s climate issues need to be approached with creative thinking and alternative means. According to the city and the people of Copenhagen that also applies to the way we communicate the message.

In our efforts to create meaning and alternative ways of exposure of the good cause we, along with many others, have stumbled upon the concept of Flash Mobs. To those of you who don’t know of the concept here is a quick introduction. A Flash Mob is an event were a large crowd assembles in the public space. They then perform a brief and sudden action that is out of the ordinary. They then leave the premises as if nothing has happened. That is the short version of what the concept is. What we believe should be added to this definition is documentation. Although a Flash Mob event can reach a large audience at crowded locations it has an even bigger potential in viral life online in the form of a video. It is therefore essential that the event is covered by a crew of cameramen and possibly also by audio recordings. That will create a far longer life of the Flash Mob and that is very interesting.

What we find incredibly interesting is combining a Flash Mob with a purpose that is more than the creative disturbance. And as our company focuses on the good cause – that is what we aim to promote and create attention around by utilizing the potential that lies within Flash Mobs.

And in a few weeks we will have the first example of a Flash Mob with a purpose created by us… When ready the documentation will naturally be present at this page.
